Expo 2020 is coming to Dubai, and it’s the perfect time to get excited about new plans along with new attractions. Dubai already has stunning attractions such as the Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and many more, but there are new projects coming up like the Museum of the Future, new canals and a giant ferris wheel. With a lot of money, time and effort spent on the new projects, and Dubai’s attractions look incredible. Here’s a look at some of the best Dubai attractions coming by the year 2020.
1. Dubai Frame –
Expected to be open very soon, the Dubai Frame is a twin tower connected to each other and standing at around 150m high. Located near Zabeel Park, the towers are in the shape of frame and are going to showcase old and new parts of Dubai. This project will also be showing a bit of Dubai’s history and consisting of an elevator showcasing panoramic views from the top.
2. Meydan One –
Expected to finish by 2020, Meydan One boasts of about 5 million square metres located between Al Khail Road and Meydan. An observation deck (665m – World’s highest 360-degrees deck), highest sky restaurant in the world (675m), luxurious 5-star hotels and 885 apartments will be constructed here. Along with these, it will also consist of around 300 food outlets. This place is expected to draw tourists in the millions.

3. Al Habtoor City –
The city will be consisting of city’s first St. Regis, The Westin Dubai along with a flagship W Hotel. There will also be various boutiques, restaurants, cafes, luscious gardens, water-based theatre called La Perle and many more retail and leisure facilities. Noura, Amna and Meera being constructed here will be 3 different residential properties providing stylish apartments and VIP penthouses.
4. Jewel of the Creek –
Located between Al Maktoum Bridge and the Floating Bridge, Jewel of the Creek is set to offer massive apartment buildings, a marina with plenty of restaurants and office towers and 2 lavish-expensive hotels. Expected to finish during the first period of 2018, the project has costed around $816 million.
5. Museum of the Future –
Now this is the most anticipated project everyone’s looking forward to. Launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the museum is set to offer courses and workshops based on new inventions and prototypes. It will be the platform for the World’s technology giants to test and demonstrate the latest inventions. There’s also a 3D printed building nearby which is going to be used as an office for the museum. This place is not juts going to take U.A.E. but also the world into the future.
6. Mohammed Bin Rashid City (MBR City) –
Family tourism, art, entrepreneurship, retail and innovation are the key areas focussed upon at this location. MBR City measures around 54 million square feet, which will be featuring parkland, waterways, waterpark and woodland for families. Located between Al Khail Road and Nad Al Sheba, the MBR City is going to remain connected to Downtown Dubai via ‘Cultural Crossing’ consisting of art galleries. There will also be about 1500 luxury villas constructed having modern Arabic designs.A true gem in the making.
7. Deira Islands –
A part of Nakheel’s project in 2007, which didn’t get completed is now set to be done now consisting of 4 islands. There will be beaches stretching over 8 km and 2 km to protect from the waves. The island will also be including marina, mall, night souk and the Deira Islands Towers. Around 2,400 apartments, shops and a leisure promenade are also going to be constructed where the whole project will be costing around AED 500 million.
8. Dubai Canal –
Dubai Canal is a project which stretches around 3.5km, acting as a link between Dubai Creek (in business bay) towards the Arabian Sea. It’s supposed to act as a means of transport running across Sheikh Zayed Road, Jumeirah Brach Road and Al Wasi Road. A bridge is under construction which will allow the canal to flow easily. This is also expected to be a great tourist attraction, as there tourists will be able to take boat rides in the canal.
9. Jumeirah Bay Island –
Dubai’s Jumeirah Island is supposed to be the ultimate project when it finishes. This island will be home to a marina, apartments, boutiques and restaurants. A 300m bridge is being constructed to reach the island and a unique feature in the shape of a seahorse will also adorn the island. This place to be expected to be big tourist attraction.
10. Bluewaters Island –
The Bluewaters Island will comprise of the world’s largest Ferris wheel, restaurants, Jumeirah Venu Hotel and many entertainment options. This project is estimated to be costing around AED 6 billion and can be reached here from Dubai mainland via a footbridge, cable car and a bridge made for electric podcars. This is place is highly awaited by all.
Dubai’s newest attractions in 2020 are going to be huge and the world will witness this at the Expo. It’s nothing new that Dubai already has unique attractions but the new Dubai attractions coming up will certainly blow everyone’s mind. So, 2020 is a great year to come and enjoy Dubai.
